REF: Tables & County Finals Dear All 28th August 2018 Further to my email dated 15th July 2018, I am pleased to inform you that we are now in a position to announce that a contract has been completed with respect to the venue for the County Finals 2019. As many of you are aware, we have attended the finals down in Selsey for the past 15 years or so. Historically the venue has been very good to us and they have provided us fantastic facilities in which to hold this prestigious and enjoyable event. We have searched and visited sites including Selsey to consider our future where we hold our county finals, Selsey/Bridlington were under close consideration, but we have finally decided on the venue below. I am therefore pleased to announce that an agreement has been agreed with Sand Le Mere Holiday Village, Tunstall, Hull and will be held from 6th to 10th March 2019. We will be playing on the newly purchased Optima tables combined with green Hainsworth Match cloths. We are also sourcing 40 sets of lights, balls and triangles which will be purchased in the very near future. The EBPF are entering into a new era of self operating with the intent of giving our members the fruits of our new adventure together. For all this to work we need our membership to support the work above. These decisions have not been taken lightly but in our opinion, they are a necessity in moving County Blackball forward and ensuring that our members have the facilities they deserve. Prize money for the county finals and other events have the prospects of increasing, plus the option to pay further down i.e. (semi-final). We as an organisation need our members on board with the competitions on offer. The National singles is one the most prestigious events of the year, an event that every member should enter, to be called National singles champion would be a great achievement by any member from any category. Therefore, we will be putting the National singles back into the National County Finals in 2020, but only from last 32 in each category. Qualifiers will be held to get down to the numbers we require. It is never easy finding a new venue, and I would like to personally thank C J Events for their assistance in achieving the above, it is very much appreciated. A special thanks to Paul Eaton and Harvey Elmhirst for all their hard work, and dedication in achieving the above, travelling to venues and meetings to ensure we succeed. Can I ask that you pass this information via whatever method you choose to your respective county players; Many Thanks for your patience and here’s to a bright future. Yours in sport On behalf of the executive committee Paul Thomson EBPF Chairman |
