Hi guys , just a query really , i'm still getting my head round a few a the more obscure rules 1 , Mid game my opponent fouls , i move the cue ball into baulk & line up a ball , as i get down to play it i realise it not quite lined up as i want it , i place the shaft of my cue on the cue ball & move it to where i want it . Now my query is , the cue ball can be moved by my hand as many times as i want ( within 60 secs , if on the clock ) as the cue ball is ball in hand until struck by my tip , but is it a foul if i'm moving the cue ball with my cue shaft ??? 2, My opponent has fouled & i ask for the cue ball . Instead of passing me the cue ball he rolls it down the table toward baulk , it ends up going down a pocket but i catch it as it enters the pockets . Is this still considered loss of frame ??? These scenarios may never develope but if they do i want to be armed with a definitive answer Thanks ![]() |

1. Used to be, but not anymore. 2. No, as ball is not in play after he touches it to pass it back. |

Another scenario i see quite a lot , even pro's doing this . A player pots the 8 ball , cue ball is travelling around the table , never likely to go in off , while the white is still moving they pick the cue ball up & places it in baulk ready for break off Now i think i know the answer , it is a foul & loss of frame , but i've seen it so many times without players or ref's calling it ??? |
